The idea there is a distinction between 'conservative' and 'hater' holds no water; conservatism is and always has been a belief rooted in hate, held by people who hate, and held together as a movement by hate.

I think he is right... I remember a time when being a conservative did not mean being hateful ...but there were always these fringe element haters.. Sad fact is that Conservatives seemed to gain their greatest strength when they started listening to the haters..and that has been the key to their successes ever since...
We cannot allow a party based on hate to succeed..

He falls into traditional conservative talking points sometimes, but he also has quite a few moments of fairness and clarity.
