many people on DU wonder why I am so damned radical about Republicans and will not be civil to them. In Vietnam we got $55 extra in combat pay and a private made only about $250 a month. And we had $10,000 life insurance. And 58,000 died in the process of fightint that war. Meanwhile Nixon committed treason by making a deal with the North Vietnamese scuttling LBJ's peace plan that would have succeed. And they did that just so "tricky Dicky " could win.
The GOP does violence to human beings every day with their policies. And the do violence to our vets. They claim that Obama is on the side of the enemy when THEY ARE THE ONES WHO ARE.

(10,602 posts)Their votes against vets are cumulative. And the public and vets in particular have to be reminded about who they are. The dishonest and corrupt media will not talk about these issues. They were against the original GI Bill after WWII and the most recent on. An they scuttled the most recent jobs bill. To add insult to injury they vote two times for the Ryan budget that will cut the VA. And they want to "couponize" the VA given a chance.

Iraq was nothing but an organized crime opperation. They murdered our guys and countless civilians to allow Cheney's people to loot the treasury.
