(59,504 posts)Though in this case the name is not pronounced as spelled - correctly or incorrectly. One of my daughters got her undergrad degree there and always corrects my pronunciation of the name.

Probably the creator of that print ad isn't even being paid by the campaign. The problem exists everywhere. I've seen company websites with horrible misspellings on their home pages. When pointed out, the errors don't even get corrected. Nobody cares any longer.

You know that's not true.
Reading and writing are two separate skills. Take it from someone who has proofread more than their fair share of academic publications: plenty of old, highly educated people struggle with the latter.
