14. When I was a kid, our neighbor had a block party. 1950s.

Nice family, I was friends with their kids.

Family style event, cookout and no alcohol.

We had an older black couple that lived across the street from us show up. Everything was pleasant and fun.

I helped the kids pick up dishes to take inside to be cleaned.

When my buddy took in the dishes the black couple had used, his Mom said to just throw them in the trash. They aren't fit to use again.

I'm pretty sure most people would change toilet seats when moving into a new house. Many would go on a cleaning spree or hire cleaners. No one is reusing a bed. There is plenty of stuff to get on them for, but I'm not sure this is it.
