The FDA is handing out emergency use authorizations (EUAs) like candy in an attempt to get tests, therapeutics, and vaccines to market at record speed in order to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic, but there is a downside — EUA products are not subject to the same scrutiny that products that eventually earn FDA approval undergo, which means it is not surprising that safety and efficacy issues emerge with increasing usage.

Abbott Laboratories’ ID NOW COVID-19 is a case in point. This test, which President Donald Trump heralded as “a whole new ballgame“, and which is used to test the president and government staffers, appears to miss nearly half of all Covid-19 cases, according to a not-yet peer-reviewed study from NYU Langone Health, New York.

4. This is all about one thing

trump getting another term, and he "thinks" he can buy votes by doing things like this, that should have been done months ago! I also think that he is holding back on any stimulus so he can send out checks with his name on them again right before Election Day. He is a sick SOB!

6. He sure seems to be able to shuffle money around. I thought that was the job of congress

Obviously different departments have funds allotted to them but didn’t the SC recently declare that he couldn’t transfer money from Defense to pay for the border wall? Maybe it was a lower court. And I imagine the stimulus passed by congress had money for testing and all. The ironic thing is the pandemic really is an emergency, where the border wall is not yet he used term Emergency to shift money to the border wall. I guess it’s an emergency to rescue his campaign.
