Several White House staff are speaking at the RNC

I thought it was illegal for employees of the Executive branch to engage in political activities. Or is there a loophole?

It is a violation of the Hatch Act.

When Castro violated it, he qualified his comments before answering a question from a reporter that he was not speaking as HUD Secretary. The Special Counsel found that it still violated the act. He was contrite after the finding.

Will any of these folks even bother to qualify their comments. At a minimum their current title should not be used.

Note how the GOP positively went nuts over Castro's violation.
