Here's a picture of the temperature at my house yesterday afternoon

I live in western Washington state, between Orting and Puyallup. Inside it was 79* with the air conditioner running full blast. Outside temperature was in the shade on my covered patio. I really feel sorry for you folks in the South and Southwest! Keep cool, if you can!

It was unusually, and unbearably hot. I look forward to a meager 81 today. My optimal temperature is not above 72!

no AC as I am at 4500 feet and it does cool off at night, this current heat wave is getting up to 95-97 inside around 2 to 5 in the afternoon (when I am in the freaking pool). we really need some rain to break this.

excuse the dust, it's right near and open window (not that my house isn't dusty in the winter too )

No worries though. It will cool down to 99 tonight.

Death Valley is named appropriately.
