No!!!! First Republican in Known Recorded History Sworn in in Grundy County, TN

From the 9-19-12 Cumberland View:

On Tuesday, September 4, 2012, Wayne Harris of Altamont was officially sworn in as County Commissioner for District 1, taking the historic title of "first Grundy Republican" to be elected to office in known recorded history."

Damn.

The hillbillies always kept it Democratic and kept it real, but non-hillbilly transplants from other parts of the country are allowed to vote, too, and probably helped put Mr. Harris in office.

(Actually, Harris is a decent guy, and we all wish him well. He's a little outnumbered, but everybody knows everybody there so he won't be treated badly because of his inferior party affiliation.)

Still, sad times in Grundy....

McCain was a first R as far as Prez's go, and told the sad tale of what's to come....

Lots of ex law-enforcement move up there to their fly in communities, and since half of the kids in Grundy ( and a good portion of the grownups) have been disenfranchised via the WOD, I see Republicans edging their way in slowly but surely.

DeJarlais' signs ( TEabaggy house incumbent running again, financed by Norquist last time ) are getting abused and torn up all over the county. No Rmoney signs anywhere, and there's a big Mormon Church in Altamont.
