https://www.oregonlive.com/news/2020/08/usps-removes-mailboxes-in-portland-and-eugene-cites-declining-mail-volume.htmlThis is a war...no different to me than the russians coming in with tanks and parking them next to our postal system and telling us we are not voting..
Residents of Portland and Eugene were alarmed this week to see some U.S. Postal Service mailboxes removed from neighborhood streets and hauled away in flatbed trucks.
The sight of mailboxes being carted off caused concern in light of recent comments by President Donald Trump about cutting Postal Service funding. Trump has also criticized voting by mail.
But a Postal Service spokesperson said declining mail volume means the Postal Service is removing duplicate boxes from areas that have multiple collection boxes. The USPS confirmed that four mailboxes were removed in Portland this week.

He is lying, there is not a decline in the mail.

I don't know why I'm surprised. Every single person he has hired is pure evil, just like him. None of them have any problem in destroying democracy.

The USPS is literally backing up trucks to mailboxes and taking them away. Here are photos of mailboxes being decommissioned in SE Portland and Eugene, Ore. Check out how many are already on the trucks! But today's news is probably going to be about "golden showers" instead.
USPS has to post signs on mailboxes 30 days prior to removal. They can be removed by law they get less than 25 pieces of mail on average per day, after a public comment period. Please ask your LOCAL elected officials to file with the courts for an emergency injunction!

(10,014 posts)6. Where are you getting your stats that mail usage
has not decline? With email and social media, it seems logical that mail usage would have declined.

I know that I can leave mail for the postman to take or drive it to the post office. A new neighbor asked me where the nearest mailbox is and I told her I have no idea.
