If President Donald Trump sounds like he’s mindlessly rattling off random facts and figures on a monotone voice while reading another script that sounds like the same script before, there’s a reason for that. The scripts have been almost identical on multiple occasions.

The Recount showed a mash-up of several different videos of Trump reading the exact same words about the COVID-19 pandemic and the United States “conducting more tests than any other country in the world.” He also cites the exact same phrase for talking about the elderly dying of the coronavirus and how they can fast-track the vaccine for 100 million of the 330 million Americans in the United States.

1. His handlers want him on script...

Trump is a horrible public speaker who always speaks from a prepared script, or reads from a Teleprompter. Often his eyes never leave the page, and he speaks in a flat monotone. On those occasions when he goes off script he runs off the rails as well, digressing to personal attacks, lies, or conspiracy theories...

Just set up the cameras, turn them on when he finally shambles out. When he at long last shuts up, edit for 'interesting' clips, run those and call it enough.

5. I doubt he actually is conventionally reading words.

The use of sharpies and large exaggerated script is a give away. In that he does not read intelligent briefings has a history of not reading books he is profoundly misinformed. He can probably recognize some words and manage with practice read a speech. He reminds me of other adults with severe learning disabilities. As a professional I should have some sympathy for Trump but I do not.
