WHAT??? Chick-Fil-A isn't really ending donations to anti-gay groups? Go figure.

It doesn't surprise me. For some reason right-wingers see no problem saying one thing and then doing another. And for some reason their supporters don't care.

The one good thing out of this is it appears the boycott is working. The statement they made about ending donations to gay groups was to try to win back some of the people who left over the last few months.

2. I don't think that Chick-Fil-A ever said that they would stop donating to anti-gay groups.

This whole story seems to have been started by one small gay-rights group in Chicago that put out a press release saying that Chick-Fil-A had made this promise. In fact, there's no evidence that Chick-Fil-A ever promised to stop supporting bigoted groups.

so I'm not shocked in the least to learn it was all a ruse.

As another poster mentioned, though, it seems to be a sign that they're clearly nervous about the long-term financial health of the company. As I posted in so many of the old threads on this, "read your history books" and look what happened to the old "Sambo's" restaurant chain back in the late 1970s-early 1980s!

I thought it was too good to be true. I figured that they would say damn near anything to get their nasty chicken store built in Chicago.

On a lighter note, I did enjoy the Cupcake video.

I actually thought it was nice that they would give up the revenue of what is usually one of a fast food restaurants busier days so their employees could be home with their families or go to church.

What I don't like is their blatant hatred for a segment of our population based entirely on their "intrepretation" of the Bible.

They've lost me for life.
