(34,105 posts)but sometimes on Facebook or another site but not here so far. Windows 10 running Chrome browser. EDIT to be specific, the other site are about the same but not the very same. Almost always I can refresh and get it but it is something relatively new I have been seeing.

(283 posts)So every time a link to a no-certificate site (http://) is clicked, it warns you that you are visiting an insecure site.
Many links on DU are not https:// (i.e. sites that have certificates - which are expensive -- so many blogs and picture sites are simple http:// i.e. without the secure socket layer.
Change your computer's security settings to average or moderate and that message will disappear.

(4,554 posts)I have not changed my security settings in a long time and this problem is relatively new so not sure that would be the issue (unless maybe a windows update did it).
Also, the problem occurs not when I click on an http:// link but when clicking on a thread within DU itself (which AFAIK are all https://) and, it occurs only one out of every several clicks.
BTW, I can't find a Windows security setting that can be set to average or moderate - where does one look for it?

(5,477 posts)I get a warning on Safari on the Mac. Looks like a lot of companies/website admins aren't doing the site certificate renewals. A lot are probably away from work, or have been busy with other virus-related work and are not paying as much attention to a lot of the underlying details.
