GOP Attitude Toward Vets - It Is A Privilege To Serve - Expect Nothing When Your Return

The GOP even apposed the original GI Bill and did nothing for Korean War Vets who were the forgotten veterans. Now they killed a jobs bill for vets. And they essentially believe the VA too much socialism and want to make if vouchers for vets like they do Medicare. They believe that private insurance should cover veterans and the pensions should be converted to 401k's and vets be eligible to collect at 59 1/2.

The GOP mantra is that even if you are a volunteer "IT IS A PRIVILEGE TO SERVE IN THE DEFENSE OF FREEDOM". After all you are well paid in the military and you get your meals an health care too. You are even given your clothing and gear without having to pay for it.

So when you come back do not expect anything from your government or the American people. You have been granted the "privilege to serve">

That attitude is what they believe. So all you wounded and disabled vets out there "get a job!" you leeches on society.

1. To me the worst attitude

Any political party can have, is disdain for military coming back from doing its duty. Its the ultimate hypocrisy, to send them into harms way, while waving flags and singing patriotic songs, and then spitting on them when they get back, thumbing their noses at their needs and putting them out on the streets for them to survive on their own. These are the wrong people to piss off...
