Selecting Harris really throws cold water on any kind of last minute GOP ticket shakeup.

Many have been speculating that Trump might dump Pence and pick someone like Nikki Halley as VP. I kind of doubt Halley would take it even if asked but with Biden selecting Harris that seems much less likely since it wouldn't carry as much excitement as it would if Biden had selected a man or non-minority woman.

We are in a very strong position now with Biden/Harris. I suspect the Trump campaign has no idea on what to do to change the direction this election is heading.

I think it's going to be a blowout in November.

He could have preempted us with a Nikki Haley choice in advance of Biden's pick, which would have sapped some of the excitement over Harris.

"probably couldn't find a "decent" Republican female". Actually, you could've left off female as well, but I suppose it's necessary for context here

Even though he brings the evangelicals he creates no attraction to any other group. I suspect they are still contemplating dumping him for someone younger with some pizzazz like perhaps Tom Cotton.

is with Trump and Pence in the Oval Office as Trump hands in a resignation letter and immediately a hand picked judge administers the oath and Pence is handed the pardon papers ready for signature as soon as the oath is administered.

Then Trump would make him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Luca Brasi held a gun to his head, and my father assured him that either his brains or his signature would be on the PARDON.

It's all about stealing it now or trying to cancel it.

He's either going to stop the mail from delivering filled out ballots, or he's trying to erode confidence in the mail so people will show up to the polls which will be closed or understaffed.

However the delay the mail tactic seems dumb and can't imagine that will help him much, if at all. His last desperate gasp will be to try to annul the election with claims of fraud. I dont think that will work either but I suspect he will try.

One thing they have proven is that no bar is too low and nothing is out of bounds. This group around him are evil and they will hold onto power at any cost, our side needs to imagine the worst case scenarios and have a plan for each of them. And even then Trump and his band of criminals will still think of something more low.

However the "group around him" is shrinking by the day. The fact that so many Republicans are speaking out publicly against Trump gives me hope that his influence and power is diminishing and we will prevail in November. I had fears that Trump was heading towards becoming America's first dictator. It is still possible but I believe very unlikely now.

For one thing, they know that they're not fooling anybody, so they aren't even trying to expand their voter base. They seem to be doubling down on their rich WASP supremacy base and hoping that they can smear, lie, and cheat their way to a second term (basically going for the EC even though Trump probably wishes he would win the PV but the EC is all that he needs to stay in office and ahead of the law). For another thing, whatever "enthusiasm" or boost he might get from dumping Pence and adding somebody like Haley would probably be superseded by the anger and potential (likely) loss from the right-wing Evangelical crowd. Pence is staying right where he is and, hopefully, going down with the ship.
