Why Trump won't be able to fix November's election: It won't be close

There is no way this will be close in most states. How about Florida?...not likely. Has the governor & the
president done a lot to stop the deaths in Florida? What about California? New York? ..You got to be kidding!
Michigan? Name any others. Ok Kansas..Trump is a bully, a liar, & a con man. He will lose and it won't be close. He has exposed the liar, the bully and the con man to the world, and he can't take it back.

We all need to keep doing everything we can, even those of us at high rissk and self quarantining.

GOTV is the answer. We need to keep running like we are 10 points down. Everywhere.

For practical purposes, we ARE ten points down. That's about the difference tRUMPski's cheating will mean to us. If we proceed on that basis (I'd take it as a given that the Shitgibbon is going to cheat somehow), we stand a chance of surviving to toss his arse to the sewer in January. Otherwise, bring guns, powder, and hardtack, and prepare to dig in for the fight.

Another reason to vote for Biden and blue down the ballot. These folks have got no idea what’s going on out here.

I read that Georgia will begin processing but not counting (whatever that means) 15 before the election but not add to the count until polls close. If more states are ready to enter the tally at 7:00, it will happen fast.

We've got to make it a blowout in polls, early voting ballot requests by Party, etc. If it's an ass whooping, people will want to be the first to scream "it's over". I HOPE to be celebrating by midnight eastern.

Or, I'm completely wrong. That happens a lot too, but I need this hope right now.

Cutbacks in unemployment subsidies take a toll. On another front, airlines, for example, will have fulfilled their loan/grant deal with the Feds and major lay offs will start. Outdoor dining will wither come late September in many states as the chill approaches, and that will push many restaurants over the brink. Back to school will bring new Covid-19 outbreaks. The public mood will increasingly be sour as we spend more time staring at our own four walls, assuming we still have them due to foreclosures and evictions. November does not bode well for Trump, I think voters will break hard against him. I agree that it will not be close enough to steal.

But that is not any reason to slack off. We need a massive sweeping electoral repudiation of Trump and all those who stood with him.

It's a&& stomping time, plain and simple.

In a previous life, when I worked with elections, they'd begin processing the absentee ballots well before election day. The totals for each ballot would be stored in an interim file. As soon as the polls closed, that file would just be input into the main tabulating program and voila, there are your first totals.

Social Scientists will struggle to explain the grip they had on America for generations, and compare it to past periods where reality seemed suspended and held the world hostage.

Close? I think it will be close in battleground states that matter, but that Biden will pull off a surprise or two, and the biggest fear is litigation and legal wrangling over Electors and Congressional validation, and his post-election actions.

Either we will turn out in huge numbers that cannot be denied. Or we’ll fail to turn up and land in a Brooks Brothers riot of our own making for failing to GOTV.

If we do show up in great numbers, I don’t think quibbling over missing mail ballots, denying the vote to those who have been illegally purged or questionable voting machine tallies will be enough to stop us. This is my preferred vision, needless to say. And, really, despite feeling my heart sink over news stories about the USPS and names dropped from voter rolls, I think there is enough genuine anti-Trump sentiment that we will prevail, even if the awful Ron Johnson fabricates lies, Bill Barr indicts innocent government officials, or a corrupt USDA rushes approval of a vaccine.

We don’t have this in the bag. I don’t think anyone on DU is foolish enough to embrace that attitude. But, even though there’s plenty of doom and gloom to go around, we shouldn’t dishearten ourselves. We can awaken to a better Nov. 4.

They're trying hard but Biden is a decent guy in most American's opinion and they'll not be able to manufacture the Ukrainian "scandal" they are so desperate to sell.

I was listening to Hannity who apparently thinks if he can say "dirty dossier" enough times, the spirit of Joe McCarthy will somehow appear to help Lindsey produce a serious argument that the FBI would not have failed in it's duties had it not proceeded to legally investigate some of the goings on over at Trump Central.

Plus, their whole argument and Lindsey's little shit show iare about as obtuse and interesting to the average Joe as fractal geometry.

We've already seen that in FL and GA.

I think Trump will try to stop mail in votes from being counted, even if he has to confiscate them.

the other 99.9%. World money. World leaders and others who see a large stake in the outcome. Shapers of events and news will see opportunity. We know there's no low bar at the WH, DOJ, and Senate but even so there are those who can descend even lower.

GOTV...GOTV...but also be vigilant for events that will confuse, distract, scare, and pressure voters over the coming months.

Shouldn't be close...which is exactly why they will be desperately bold.
