FILE - In this Feb. 27, 2020, file photo, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine gives an update on COVID-19 at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. DeWine has accepted a White House proposal for Ohio unemployment claimants to receive $300 in weekly unemployment compensation assistance with no state money involved.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) Ohio unemployment claimants would receive $300 in federal weekly unemployment assistance under an option provided by the White House that doesn't require extra state spending, the administration of Gov. Mike DeWine said.
The plan agreed to late Sunday by DeWine means less money for the unemployed under another option, that would provide $400 a week, with $100 coming from the state.
Both options involve less than the $600 a week in federal pandemic aid that recipients were receiving until their expiration on Aug 1, with Congress unable to agree on an extension.

Back to being the slimey Republican Politician.
Mike claims he has a gun bill but the Legislature will not pass it. You have no influence, Mike?
Get rid of that nuclear and coal bribe, too.

(15,192 posts)Hate to say that to the state I grew up in and used to call home, but the Retrumplicans have fucked that state raw.
Might as well just change the name to Northern Kentucky, or West West Virginia.
It's a fucking shithole of corruption and CONServative shitstains smeared all over the state.
Retrumplicans have so gerrymandered the state that they can get 46% of the vote and win 85% of the political power.
So glad I got the fuck out of there.

New GM plant for Brookville. On the 1 70 corridor. No thanks to Trump.

(68,352 posts)even though I think Trump is lying and won't give out any money...DeWine is trying to get extra money...more than any other state has done...I think DeWine is wrong...there won't be any money from dirty donnie. Bye the way Ohio is in play this year.

(15,192 posts)pretending to be "moderate".
He's nothing but Susan Collins in better clothes.
He's always so concerned and reasonable, all the way up to when he kisses Dipshit Donnie's ass.
A "truly" good man would have protected the state's health director and her family from threats.
What did he do?
Pretended he was soooo sorry to see her go, but I guess as the most powerful politician in the state, he was helpless to find and prosecute the people making the threats.
it's way past time to STOP giving ANYONE with an R after their name the "benefit of the doubt
They are ALL complicit in creating the festering shithole our country has become.
If fucking Mike Dewine is our idea of a "good, reasonable and thoughtful" Retrumplican, we might as well just turn the lights out, because our country is frickin dead.

(68,352 posts)And since my husband and I are unemployed. $300 a week would help ...hope we get a better deal of course with Congress. I don't think Trump can actually do this. The governor, got unemployment to Ohioans, when the system was overwhelmed steps were taken to help the unemployed...so while DeWine is not in my party, I appreciate what he has done during the pandemic. As for the doctor, the idiots would never stop and it was not safe for her. She still advises him unofficially.
