(7,413 posts)Not satisfied with merely being the cool kids, they also perceive themselves as the smart ones now.
They don't even look over and copy the answers from the nerds anymore. They "got this".
When their incorrect answers are flagged, they merely assert that they are in fact correct.
They have very little natural curiosity about the real facts and right answers.

it takes a lot of time and effort to be a nerd - while we're focused on the details etc they're out spending their time scamming everyone
I think it's some kind of flaw in our civilization and we need to correct it or we're all going to be extinct in the not too distant future.

(14,853 posts)And I agree with most of the comments in this thread too.
The "cool kids" often become "the deciders" in this country despite often being mentally lazy.
Wealth often comes down to contracts that declare ownership. I'm not a hater of Bill Gates, by any means, but even his tremendous wealth could mostly be attributed to his father being a corporate lawyer and a great deal with IBM. Gates didn't even create DOS for their PC's, but had purchased it from a better programmer. The purchase thereby gave him ownership of it.
I saw Gates on a TV trivia show about computers years ago, and I was shocked at the time that I knew far more answers than him! And I had only took a few computer programming and engineering classes at that time, majoring in mathematics.
Yet he had the privilege to hire more talented people to work under him to build Microsoft, with himself as the head because of his government-backed ownership status.
