Not a single share of Biden stock

Andrew Weinstein
@Weinsteinlaw
Seems like a good time for a reminder that when @JoeBiden first ran for office in 1972 he pledged not to own a single share of stock so long as he held public office. He kept that promise for his entire political career. Honesty and ethics matter.

during the primary, but somehow no one paid much attention. To me, this is a big deal or as Joe would say, "a BFD".

over that time, but wealth accumulation just wasn't as important as his work to him.

Biden also used to enjoy fixing up an old house or two they'd bought for themselves, and some days he'd take that train home and get busy with a different kind of work.

(Money's Trump's thing of course, and he would be many times wealthier than whatever he is if he'd just put half of what his father gave him in index funds over this period and gone off and played with the rest.)

He could have done nothing(!) and had more money than he even lied about having.

from Trump would be ridiculous. A couple or few hundred million just for playing and losing would have sufficed if, for instance, his father had tied a good bulk of it up in an investment trust.

I like Biden's story much better. The image of a congressman and then senator coming home to sand woodwork and add supports under sagging floors because he enjoyed it is a very nice one for me.

Just sick of these entitled, socially arrested brats.
No more of this!
My dad was a truck driver. I retired wealthy. Stepped on nobody along the way*, cheated nobody, saved and donated, treated others with respect,...
Gee, a liberal who grew up in a middle class home that turned out financially solid.
I guess being born rich and being a small-minded prig isn't the only path!
Who knew?
* I admit to stomping on some jerks who tried to step on me and did to others when I passed them on the ladder.
Call me vengeful!

is really the smart and ethical thing to do which is probably why Trump refused to do it as he is neither smart nor ethical.
