Fauci Would Have Thought Twice About Career in Medicine Had He Known It Meant Someday Talking to Jim JordanWASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)Dr. Anthony Fauci said on Friday that he would have thought twice about pursuing a career in medicine had he known that it would lead to his talking someday to Representative Jim Jordan.
Speaking to reporters after his congressional testimony, Fauci said that, during his appearance in the hearing room, he had been revisiting the series of life choices that had resulted in his being forced to hear Jordan speak.
I could have done so many other things with my life, the esteemed virologist said. I could have been a firefighter. I was actually a pretty good dancer back in the day. I could have given that a shot.
Reflecting on those roads not taken, Fauci added, Had I chosen any of those fields, you can bet your bottom dollar I wouldnt have spent today having to listen to Jim Jordan. Those are minutes Ill never get back.
Fauci clarified that he was very grateful for his career as an an epidemiologist but added, Lets not kid ourselves. If I were a professional dancer, theres about a zero-per-cent chance I would ever be in the same room as Jim Jordan. Oh, wellit is what it is.

(10,035 posts)I imagine some of them must look at what theyve become and feel a twing of regret. But not enough to change course and back out. Theyve all hitched their wagons to the crazy-treason train and are going to ride it out.

(202,970 posts)Of all people to go after Anthony Fauci - of all people - is totally mind boggling and unacceptable to pretty much all of us!

(83,320 posts)It was a hoot. What was that dance Gym was doing in his seat today? Looked like he reached down a time or two to loosen the wedgie stuck up his ass.

(202,970 posts)He actually ran for office and beat out all others - same with Louie Gohmert! Who in their right mind would send these guys to Congress??! But then I should talk, my current representative is Elise Stefanik (who joined up with Jordan during the impeachment headings)...

(63,221 posts)So sorry to hear that! She is just awful! Hopefully she won't be for much longer. Is she running against Tedra Cobb? I have sent a few dollars her way. I know what you mean though. What kind of people vote these people into office? That's what scares me!
Rhiannon12866
(202,970 posts)But people obviously keep voting for her! She doesn't hold Town Halls and doesn't publicize her schedule ahead of time since she knows protesters will show up! Last time, 10 Democrats (and one Republican) stepped up to run in the primary, Tedra Cobb was the candidate who got the nomination, but Stefanik managed to squeak by once again. And apparently Cobb is giving it another try, she got a lot of publicity when Stefanik showed up at the impeachment hearings side-by-side with Gym Jordan. Election before last there was a really strong Green candidate, we have enough to deal with without a third party candidate siphoning off votes. Last time I went out, I saw Stefanik signs already, my hope is that her increased alliance with Trump will finally bring her down.

Dr. Fauci demonstrated an enormous amount of restraint. Almost superhuman, I'd say.
to the man for having to suffer a total fool/tool.

(202,970 posts)He's been the hero for our times, the one we needed now, despite all the dismissal and pushback from Trump and his equally ignorant and insulting minions. But Dr. Fauci knows his duty and hasn't backed down - and the man is 79 years old!

(63,221 posts)Seriously though, Poor Dr. Fauci! What he has had to put up with, aside from the worst pandemic of our lifetimes. Having to deal with people like Jordan, Trump, Pence, Brix and other complete morons must be endlessly frustrating for him. The man has had a stellar career and this is what he gets at almost 80 years old? I really feel for the guy.
Thanks for posting!

(202,970 posts)We are so fortunate to have someone of this caliber - with the experience and expertise - leading the country in a crisis like nothing we've ever experienced before. To have Trump and his minions going out of their way to undermine him is not only despicable, but it's costing American lives! I give him every credit in the world for Persisting!
