Three-day weekend? Are Republicans meeting behind closed doors?

What would they be discussing? The coronavirus assistance program?

Or might they be discussing the latest poll numbers?

What are their options?

They can stay with Trump and possibly lose everything in a landslide? As a Party, they would be left in shambles. Of course, they are always able to pull themselves back together, as they did after Watergate.

Or do they take a chance with someone else? It is not inconceivable for them to see Mr Trump withdrawing from the race, rather than have an L in his loss column, with just a few weeks left in the race. That is a possibility they have to consider.

Of course, almost unanimously, those up for re-election are attempting to find a way to distance themselves from Mr Trump, especially since his comments about postponing the election in November. That seemed to be on the other side of that imaginary line they have drawn with Donald Trump? Or they are trying to appeal to the few sane Republicans still left in their Party?

Do you believe Donald Trump is not part of their discussions this weekend?

So, I take it the GOP politicians are remaining in Washington DC this weekend?

Hmmm. Very interesting.

Well, there was a rumor about a Labor Day deadline amongst the GOP for Trump to get it together before they cut him loose. Maybe they are contemplating moving that date up?

Hopefully some of our best reporters are snooping around the corridors of power today.

That it would be hard to list them all. But at the top of that list I would imagine that Agent Orange Julius is at the top along with their chances for re-election, how they can screw us in the next relief Bill and ways to steal the election.

Reportedly, there are 20 republican senators that will vote no on any extension of unemployment benefits or relief package. That alone creates the dilemma where they have to pass something to avoid the public wrath over missing another deadline, but they need Democratic votes to pass it.

But instead of courting Democratic votes with a compromise here or there, they want to shove a sparse bill down all of our throats or blame Democrats if nothing passes. They are trying to have their cake and eat it too, plus dessert.

I believe that they are working on campaign strategy to keep him in office. It is far too late to bail on Trump, his 40% would be in the streets, and the results would be a Democratic landslide on all levels. They have to ride their horse to the finish line.

Since Trump can not run on his record, the only option will be to destroy Biden as a candidate. I believe that that is where they will go from here to election day.

They definitely need to tear down Biden or they will be in the swamp by themselves.
