Particularly in states that don't have mail in ballots.
People would send them in thinking they had voted but hadn't.

Even in states that have mail in voting, bogus ballots could confuse people.
Hell, the Trump campaign could even use them as evidence that the election has been corrupted.
They corrupt it then claim it's corrupt.

There are so many things that could go wrong in this election and I'd bet every single one of them will happen. Trump wants this election to be as corrupt as Putin's because he plans to remain president no matter what the public wants.

Florida has one of the most successful and glitch-free mail-in ballot systems. and there is no way she received two ballots unless she herself did something fraudulent, which I doubt happened, since you would know if your friend is a criminal (she isn't). So, she is misinformed in some way.

Rethugs have famously sent out mass mailings with the wrong election dates for years to suppress the vote. Hard to imagine they won’t try this too. But untraceable dark money will be used to fund it.

Probably nothing can be done about it. People just need to stay vigilant. The fakes shouldn’t be that hard to recognize.
