At any level of government.
Sure, Hillary knew about Trump and his xenophobia and bigotry and the irreplaceable harm he would do to the country. And she called it out, while most everyone ignored her (well the media, anyway). But Biden seems to know how Trump works - like at the very basic, corrupt, immoral, unethical level he seems to understand what Trump is going to do to try to steal this thing in November.
That, my friends, is comforting because it tells me Biden is ready for whatever Trump is going to throw at him.
The fact that, back in April, Biden called Trump pushing to postpone the election, despite being attacked for it as alarmist and floating conspiracy theories, is absolutely proof positive of this.
And the kicker? Biden isn't afraid to call him out for it.
He called him out in April.
He said if he doesn't leave the White House in January, he'll be removed by the military.
People laugh and claim it's just hyperbole but I don't. I think Joe gets it. I think he's had Trump pegged ever since he opened his bloated orange pie hole back in 2009 claiming Obama's birth certificate was a forgery.
Just my two cents on the matter. I think Biden is one-step ahead of Trump on everything and it's likely driving Trump insane(ier).

(34,857 posts)But this is different. This is more than just saying Trump will be Putin's Puppet, or that he's a bigot or racist. This is about understanding every minor or major action he will take to stay in power.
Hillary, I think, approached 2016 with the mindset that Trump was dangerous but, at the end of the day, it was still a typical presidential campaign.
it wasn't, though.
Skittles
(153,174 posts)so no, she did not consider it a "typical presidential campaign"

(34,857 posts)It's not an attack on Hillary to admit the truth. She spoke of interference but yeah, she pretty much acted as if the election would go normally - right down to expecting a victory and not having a contingency plan. In fact, it was Trump who was saying she was going to steal the race.

(34,857 posts)She spoke of Russian interference. She did not speak of him trying to steal the election. Just that Russia would interfere.
She always stopped short of stating their motive:

Hillary got trump was Putin's Puppet and tried to warn us but as was posted.. the m$m was too gaslightingly focused on .."But her emails.."
Joe Biden and America have had 4 years now to suffer trump as proof that Hillary was right.
And yes, it is comforting to know that Biden & his Team of Crack Dem Lawyers will be ready for however the Fascists try to steal the election.

(10,836 posts)We're fighting for the soul of the country. We're fighting for the definition of who and what we are and who we aspire to be.
Joe Biden ran twice before for the presidency. He wasn't my guy then. But instinct (or something) told me he was my guy now, the candidate who would call Trump out and better yet, kick him to the curb.
Maybe it's Biden's blue-collar roots. Or maybe it's his genuine empathy. Maybe too it's his experience and foreign policy knowledge, his many years of public service. Whatever it is Biden has become the anti-Trump--a decent, honest, trustworthy man with a common touch, something Americans hunger for.
And normal.
After all the chaos, mismanagement and deliberate lying, people want normal knowing that government will function the way it's suppose to, that our national security is in loyal, competent hands and that we're ready to meet the future.
Despite all the criticism, the gaffes (real or not), the age factor, IMO Joe Biden was made for this singular, historic moment. I think Biden knows that and will not let the moment go to waste. I think more and more Americans are realizing this, too:
Joe Biden is their guy.
