I didn't like Herman Cain but I mourn his passing.

My mom , god bless her, had Stage 3 Colon Cancer at 82. That meant she had positive lymph nodes but no distal spread. Given her age she didn't want Chemo. She died of old age at 90. Herman Cain had Stage 4 Colon Cancer in 2006 that metastasized to his liver. The survival rate is 14%. He beat it.

He beat Stage 4 Colon Cancer but couldn't beat COVID-19. People who pooh pooh it should be feeling awful right now, that is if they have a soul.

1. So I'm supposed to feel sorry for him?

I don't. He put himself at risk. Not only that, he actively pushed back against measures to reduce the spread. He might as well have drank a tall glass of bleach.

I feel sorry for people who are forced to work and expose themselves because they have to pay rent and eat.

I feel sorry for kids and teacher who are going to forced into classrooms.

I don't feel sorry for that sack of shit.

5. Sorry, but I don't feel awful

I have plenty of "soul" if you're referring to empathy and generosity of spirit.

Cain and other Republicans, however, have none. They live in the world of "I've got mine, fuck you." Cain pooh-poohed the use of masks to slow the spread of Covid-19. The poetic justice of him contracting the disease-- at Trump's rally no less!-- only adds to the profound irony of his death. I don't have any pity for him or his family because I'm out of fucks to give to people who want to hurt others and deny them of the opportunities America offers.

Covid-19, like cancer and other serious ailments, is an equal-opportunity disease. Cain didn't deny his cancer and try to use magical thinking or unproven cures to survive it. Why did he do so with the coronavirus?

6. I sure don't find any pleasure in his death, but I don't mourn it either. He contributed to the LIE

that people should NOT wear masks, and that is deplorable because that advice puts people and their families in danger.

7. Fascist Cain proudly promoted Covid disinfo and died

from Covid. Somehow not mourning his death has transformed us into ‘soulless’ people.

Our cities are occupied by goon squads directed by the president he worshipped.
A pandemic has been deliberately inflamed by his party and by Cain himself.
Mass evictions are about to occur.
Twitler is floating no election trial balloons.

So what is important in the op is to scold us for not giving a shit about Cains death.

I don't wish this on anyone.

And, unlike some others in the Trump camp, Cain wasn't cruel or hateful. He was foolish.

9. Sorry, I don't. His death from stupidity may finally be one positive contribution

from someone who failed his duty to first do no harm outstandingly by becoming a harmful national figure. I respect his right to spout off after the second beer with his friends like any other individual, but not to lie and smear to influence millions to also do bad.
