He told staff members he wanted to inform them in person instead of finding out from news reports.

where posters referred to him as being known as the dumbest person in Congress. And now he proves exactly that with his stupidity as if he wanted to erase any doubt. Case closed, he's indeed the dumbest ahole in Congress despite fierce competition.
