Anyone see Peter Navarro on CNN just now pleading with everyone to give chloroquine (which doesn’t help covid) a 2nd chance because he has millions of tablets... This is some seriously bizarre BS....

My rwnj relatives are just like this. If you ask them not to send you right wing crap, they send you crap. If you agree to not discuss politics, they will bring it up. My Mom used to say, "I just want to get a rise out of you." I asked her, "Why Mom? Do you think that's fun for me? Do you think that makes me want to hang around with you?" She fell back on her standard line, "You liberals need to get a sense of humor." If I had a dollar for every time she said that, I'd have a nice party.

Also, SNL does make fun of Liberals--specifically the overzealous ones who really don't have a sense of humor. Check out their mock commercial for "Woke Jeans".
There are humorous, take-things-too-far people of every stripe and perspective. And people who "just want to get a rise out of you" are powerless little trolls who certainly don't care if the world becomes a better place.

I have that little cartoon on a magnet and I am a feminist. I find it funny because I can know some people like that and because I can laugh at myself and admit that sometimes I act that way. I also have a cartoon by the same artist which shows Jesus on a psychiatrist's couch asking why he feels the need to be accepted by everyone. (I could not locate that one to post.)
Many of the same folk who thinks liberals need to get a sense of humor would probably be aghast by the Jesus cartoon, because "Hey, that's making fun of something sacred." Well, I consider basic human dignity and the right to be judged as an individual something sacred, and that's why I am a Liberal.
