... always see the hand of God in things like hurricanes, floods, plagues and its always Gods retribution for things like homosexuality, adultery, lack of prayer in schools, etc.
Well, if I were a Trump-humping Evangelical, Id be wondering right now whose side God is really on because the Almighty seems determined to destroy whats left of Donalds pResidency, e.g. a raging pandemic, a collapsing economy, soaring unemployment, and the citizenry taking to the streets to thwart his every asinine move.
Watching videos of Donnies Wall being blown away by a hurricane well, if I believed in God sending signals of his wrath, Id have to logically assume that Hes sending an unmistakable message aimed at a very specific target.

(5,729 posts)All things dull and ugly,
All creatures short and squat,
All things rude and nasty,
The Lord God made the lot.
Each little snake that poisons,
Each little wasp that stings,
He made their brutish venom.
He made their horrid wings.
All things sick and cancerous,
All evil great and small,
All things foul and dangerous,
The Lord God made them all.
Each nasty little hornet,
Each beastly little squid
Who made the spikey urchin?
Who made the sharks? He did!
All things scabbed and ulcerous,
All pox both great and small,
Putrid, foul and gangrenous,
The Lord God made them all.
Amen.

It was said that if you listen close to the you tube video of it...you can almost hear the wind say damn...missed him by THAT much.

(8,859 posts)Stephanie Miller mentioned on her show last week that the Statue Of Liberty was hit the night before that show. They always say God work's in strange ways when they have no answer for an event. Nothing strange here, she is screaming out loud in our faces. God is telling us she has had enough. Now if she would just hit Fox studios during an all employee mandated meeting, I will start going to church 4 days a week, With 2 masks on.
I'm sure all the bible trumpers, will talk to god and everything will work out.

(47,691 posts)This year certainly has looked biblical and it feels like its going to get worse. Amazing that Evangelical Trump supporters don't see some profound message in all of it. Or maybe they'll blame same sex marriage or abortion for all the disasters we're experiencing. They do tend to cherry pick their divine interventions.

(82,849 posts)Is that the countermeasures to the pandemic are in keeping with the central tenets of Christianity: Regard for others, and denying oneself in service to society. Self-isolation, wearing a cloth mask, maintaining social distance are all within the capability - physical and financial - of practically anyone. They are affordable and accessible. The yoke is easy. The burden is light. With the financial backing of the federal government, and working from a coherent, fact based, scientifically valid plan, we could bring the pandemic under control within 60 days.
Instead, we waste time, money, and effort in pointless squabbles that appeal to people's selfishness. And it seems that the leading squabblers identify most heavily with evangelicals and fundamentalists.

(5,667 posts)For example, Pat Robertson knew that the earthquake in Haiti was a result of a pact with the Devil;
Jerry Falwell knew that 9/11 occurred because of pagans, abortionists, feminists, "the gays and the lesbians" and the ACLU;
John Hagee knew that Katrina was a result of the level of sin in New Orleans;
and Ralph Drollinger, who runs a Bible study attended by several members of Mango Mussolini's Cabinet, has strongly implied tha the corona virus pandemic is the result of the consequential wrath of God for violating Biblical precepts.
See, these people just know things.

I always love it when some preacher blames a natural disaster in the bible belt on divine retribution for something he doesn't like 1000 miles away. His god has atrocious aim.
But the suckers buy it, every single time. Anything that allows them to hate people they've never met gives them a sick thrill, I guess.
