A 40+ year old TV show (Lou Grant) and the Nazi Party of today

Marta and I were watching a first season episode of Lou Grant titled Nazi just now. With the increase in the Nazi movement over that last few years, I think it would be great for CBS to run this episode again. But I know they will never do it.

Does anyone else remember the episode?

Pursuing a story on American Nazis, Billie enters the Brown Shirt headquarters, uncovering shocking information. Members of an American Nazi party break up a Jewish demonstration, inspiring Billie to write an in-depth story on a racist organization.

And they keep resurfacing, years and decades later.

Who would think that losers could be zombies - resurrecting with the same horrible character.

Nixon, Goldwater, McCarthy, Bush, Bush, Reagan, Trump/trump/trump (sounds like hob-nail boots).

Ed Asner, Robin Williams, Hal Linden, and Howard Hesseman had a press conference where they protested Reagan backing the Contras over the democratically elected Sandinistas.

Within a couple of months, Lou Grant, Mork & Mindy, Barney Miller, and WKRP were all cancelled. It was a travesty.

Republicans talk tough, but have such thin skins.

When Dick Van Dyke and Robert Vaughn were the first Hollywood stars to speak against Vietnam, their shows weren't cancelled. But we had LBJ in the WH then. That's what made the rumors about Carol Burnett's ear tug so interesting.

but the ratings for "WKRP" were inconsistent thanks to the network juggling its time slot around for three of its four seasons. Like "Star Trek," its popularity swelled in syndication.

"Barney Miller" ran a full eight seasons on ABC, customary length for shows before they move into syndication. The decision to end the series was made by its production company. Most of its popular cast over the years had moved on from the show and the producers feared they were in danger of repeating script themes. The network didn't cancel the show.

"Mork and Mindy" was an ABC show, as well. Its first season was highly ranked but it slipped to 28th by the end of Season Two, then 49th in Season Three and ended Season Four at 60th before being cancelled.

It's more likely that "Lou Grant" was cancelled due to Asner's outspoken politics.

I also remember seeing just those four actors standing together on the evening news. It probably was just a coincidence.

Those were four shows I watched regularly and blamed Raygun for his influence. He was a total prick and I never thought we'd see any worse president.

What's coming after Biden's term is up? I want the pendulum to break after we capture the whole thing.

who will bring us into the moment with getting shit taken care of and quickly. A strong woman who can handle crises as we've seen with women who happen to be the leaders of their respective countries. And we all have to get our head on straight and support the programs to make the best use of what little time we have left to save ourselves from the ravages of the industrial age and the petroleum age.

New Zealand is hard to migrate to and it is so with many other countries. We're here and we have to clean up our room before we can go and socialize with the other kids on the planet who are trying to clean up their rooms and doing a better job of it.

1) Johnny Fever's 'phone cops play hardball' episode.
2) When the highway patrolman came to prove how much drinking impaired reaction time, but Johnny Fever only got a quicker reaction time by drinking more and the patrolman got hammered.
3) The Thanksgiving plan, when they didn't know turkeys couldn't fly when they threw them out of the station news helicopter.

Aside from Gordon Jump (Mr. Carlson) the rest of that cast is still with us.

And Bailey was way more attractive (to me) than Jennifer.

She had red hair and fair skin.

Joe looked too "ethnic" for them and Animal was a photographer.
