Do you think Trump will ever get prosecuted, convicted, and do jail time after he leaves office?

I can think of a whole host of crimes, federal and state, which he probably committed and for which he deserves punishment. Do you think that America has the stomach to prosecute a former POTUS? Personally, I think that he needs to be made an example of no one is above the law, and corrupt venal politicians will not be tolerated.

let him get away, scot free...

The turd may destroy the republican party, but waiving accountability by the democrats will be ITS destruction.

If the turd and his family are not held accountable we will hear from him/them EVERY DAY reminding us of the democrats' failure. Their base will STILL be behind them, and THEY will take back over in 2024, because democrats will stay home by the millions. We will see Ivanka or Don Jr in the white house in 2025.

If the democrats can't step up to the plate and do what needs to be done, it is time for a NEW party. And it could have millions of members OVERNIGHT. They are waiting in the wings right now...

Let's just get him out of office.

Jail time is same category as Trump resigning or impeached by the senate or not being renominated, etc.

If Trump loses we'll quickly learn that he has no intention of shutting up, and his devotees are fully determined to keep going with him.

Trump as the 2024 GOP nominee is markedly more likely than Trump spending 5 minutes in jail

they would be more determined to get him. Not the contractors, but the courts that were hounded by his lawyers. After all the lawsuits and bankruptcies, his reputation/history has to be so rank, they would like nothing better than to at least win a few cases.

When he moved his residency to Florida, my first thought was that he was reading the message on the wall. People are sick of him and New York ranks toward the top of that list. JMVHO. Maybe I'm grabbing at straws.

If "The Rule Of Law" actually means anything in the United States, we can not allow this man to escape justice. He has broken so many laws, and done so much wrong that it just can not be one of those "Move On" type things.

And yes, I remember the genesis of "Move On", but this is completely different.

The man is a fucking crook, full stop. He needs to be made an example of. It just can not be allowed that someone can get elected to the presidency and conduct themselves the way he has.

Charge them all.

Him and his entire fucking crime ridden, grifter-ass family.

The only ones I can see not getting indicted are Barron, Tyffany, Marla and Ivana.

and our next president always let it go for the good of the country. One would think that by this time they would know it is NOT good for the country. It is also not good for our society, not in any way.

I think the people will in large part have the guts to demand it but I do not see Biden or Pelosi supporting it, they are just like that. **I have not heard anything about what they would think about it so this is just what I think, means nothing really.**

I support sending this man through the ringer for the rest of his life. He should be afraid or restrained or both for the rest of his life. He should never have a perk or a bank account that does more than rent him a small apartment and pay for him to cook his own meals if he is not in prison where he belongs.

Will we do it? I certainly hope so or this country is doomed this time. I have grave doubts we will see it happen but I am wrong so often and this is one time I hope with all my heart I will look back on this post with a red face.

A lot of it is his tendency to drag things out and of course never admit to being wrong about anything. However, for all that he's wronged a great many people before now, the consequences have never been so dire. And it's difficult to maintain a myth under those circumstances.

So while he is unlikely to change his behavior once he's out of office, circumstances are likely to catch up with him. I suspect it'll be a pretty boring and banal matter that gets him in the end, too. His political and cultural demise will be dull rather than suspenseful.

I expect to see him completely mentally breaking down in a torrent of paranoia, widespread persecution, never-ending lawsuits and public humiliation. His life can only go downhill and he has nobody to blame but himself.

I'm not saying that he doesn't deserve it.

The optics for the US would be terrible and would make us look bad on the world stage. Only 3rd world despots get imprisoned, not the president of the greatest country in the world, right? Since people in power think that the US is the greatest, they wouldn't do anything that would lower us to that 3rd world level. We're too proud to admit that we made such a huge mistake.

Note- I was being a bit sarcastic here, but I still believe that our country's leaders wouldn't do anything that would be embarrassing for the US.

Then after about a decade of new bad Republicans, people will start comparing him favorably to whoever the new bad guy is.

The reality is that VERY few bad President/Kings/Dictators ever pay more than a token price and even years, decades or centuries later still retain supporters.

That is tRUMP's bargaining chip to even leave office, so he and his spawn will be promised that they won't get prosecuted.

Meanwhile, Republicans will rebuild and immediately blame the damage tRump did on Biden and the Democratic House & Senate, if the election is a clean sweep. The wealthy elite will immediately pump a lot of cash into the Republican Party for the American wash and repeat insanity. The recovery will be long and hard, because there will be no wealthy elite crack down to go back to their tax rates before the 'trickle down' gimmick started... Only minimal increases will likely happen and nothing will be reconciled with regards to previous cuts under tRump & Republican, Inc.
