(63,261 posts)Every "undecided" person that I've ever known has voted consistently Republican or right-leaning Independent (or Libertarian, if they're completely fucking stupid).
Pretending to be undecided lets them imagine that they're special or enlightened, or that they've seen the big picture while the rest of us fools "blindly" follow the leader.
If someone tells you they're undecided, ask how they voted the last few cycles. You might get blips now and then, but they're either lying outright or they're Republicans afraid to admit it.

(25,764 posts)It's all bullshit.
I just watched a couple of documentaries (one about Roger Stone) and had to relive the 2016 election. The enormous amounts and poor quality of the bullshit that year is incredible. People like Stone who used that anti-elitist, anti-establishment bullshit to trick naive people should burn in heck.
At least this year we don't have to hear that damn word "establishment" used as some sort of paranoid conspiracy theory every five seconds.

(16,144 posts)also, those people who say "Well, I don't really like/approve of Trump, but I don't know if I can vote for a Democrat"...they voted for Trump and will do it again, because they DO approve of and like him they just don't want to say so because they know how it makes them look.
They get that it shows who they really are.
I'm done with even the Trumpers I'm related to. Just done. If they think that he's 'doing a good job', then they are on a very, very different page in terms of basic morality than I am. I just can't with this.

Absolutely spot on!
When I hear about these so-called "remorseful" Republicans who regret their Trump vote, I'm confident that more than 99% of them only regret being made to feel like the idiot racist fuckheads that they are. They don't regret their vote nearly as much as they regret being called out for it.
And I want these remorseful souls to put it in writing; sign a contract that they'll never again vote for a Republican or Right-leaning candidate, because will otherwise pull the red lever again as soon as they get the chance. And afterwards they'll almost certainly express remorse again. And then vote Republican again.

(84,005 posts)If anyone needs to be convinced, coddled, spoon fed and wooed to make the right choice at this time is beyond me. A vote for anyone other than our Democratic candidate here and now is enabling Trump to commit genocide while setting us up for fascist rule.
Forget a green new deal, forgo SSI and Medicare, equality and civil rights you will condemn our children and grandchildren to a very bleak future. This is our last chance. Clock is ticking. Tick Toc.
Wake Up America.

(42,862 posts)I think they want attention. They want to be validated. It's a WASTE OF TIME. Instead... our efforts are better spent in getting NEW and FIRST TIME voters to the polls. We're better off helping people to register and making sure their registration info is current.
You could spend five hours trying to convince ONE "Sarandonesque" voter that Biden is the best choice (and still not have guaranteed results). In fact they'd probably "write in" the name of someone that has NO chance of winning.
But, if you simply ignore that particular voter and concentrate the same amount of effort elsewhere, it's possible to get dozens of voters to support Biden and to join the Democratic Party.

HRC and Biden were/are vilified by them for "pandering" when they did reach out, once they were the candidate.

Frankly their track record with their chosen flock is, IMHO a huge fail.

(89,283 posts)These people are not that informed but like to consider themselves above partisan politics.
In the end they just vote based on "which way the wind blows" . whatever they feel is popular when they are voting.

(84,005 posts)Do you watch the news? In five months due to an oblivious non functioning human over 149K people have died. The death rate is now 1K a day. Hospitals, ICU and first responders are overwhelmed. There are no beds left, no morgue space. Have you seen the pictures of bodies being stacked in refrigerator trucks?
This is far more than politics, however when you see this and are undecided???? WTF are people thinking?
Not you, them...the undecided.

(293 posts)They are getting everything they want from tax cuts, to judges, to anti-abortion rulings to, environmental law deregulation, to suppression of minorities, to protection of gun rights, to suppression of voting rights. It is like the media and many Democrats think that these people are and have been decent moral people with the country's best interest at heart. I know them. Raise to be one of them. They are evil and more evil today than they were yesterday. Triggered by the election of a black man as President, their racist and anti-abortion parade had already formed and was marching. Trump just jumped in front of it.

(33,652 posts)there are about 16% undecided. But those are mostly folks who will probably vote third party or not vote.
So those are Libertarians who don't ever vote for a Democrat but won't vote for Trump and Bernie supporters who are still mad that Bernie was denied. They aren't undecided between Trump and Biden, they just won't vote for either.
