Media Continues to Misreport Unemployment: 31.8 Million People on State & Federal Unemployment Insurance. Week 18 of U.S. Labor Market Collapse
If you read this morning or heard on the radio that 16.2 million people were claiming unemployment insurance the continued claims and you thought that there were only 16.2 million people who claimed unemployment benefits, you fell victim to lazy misreporting in the media, by reporters or bots that didnt read the Labor Departments press release beyond the second paragraph.
Those 16.2 million were only the claims under state programs, and do not include the claims under federal programs. All combined, there were 31.8 million people on the unemployment rolls. Thats what the Labor Department reported further down in the press release.
There is a huge difference between 16.2 million and 31.8 million unemployed people

The reporters arent being lazy, they are doing as they are ordered. Anything that doesnt fit the blue skies and sunshine forever narrative is to be either buried deep into the articles, or left out. The bots are doing as they are programmed, with the programming incorporating the same directive as that given the reporters. Whatever it takes to drive the casino indexes upward.
All IMO, of course

Then there are all the Gig workers whom qualify for zero Benefits. Here in Nevada the number was 120k and a program was put in place to help some,60k or so. Those were paid via the six hundred PPE program, but, our State Computer System blew up big time and about half of the original claimants are still waiting.
Another Political Fav getting a 40 million dollar pay check for a bunch of junk Computer system that seems to have been cobbled together from out dated off the shelf crap. BTW,that system was bought by the previous Gov. The GOP strikes again.
