Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) seems awfully desperate to avoid saying whether shell vote for President Donald Trump in November.
That shouldnt be too surprising given that shes facing the toughest reelection bid of her career in a state that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden appears poised to win.
But Collins reasoning for avoiding questions about whether she backs the presidents push for four more years in the White House doesnt add up.
She attempted to explain her silence in an interview with The New York Times earlier this month, stating she doesnt campaign against her Senate colleagues. (Before serving as President Barack Obamas vice president, Biden represented Delaware as a senator for more than three decades.

(2,031 posts)Grimes, I think, was her name. She was asked by a reporter if she voted for Obama and she hemmed and hawed and wouldn't answer the question and was obviously profoundly uncomfortable with it. I think that kind of wishy-washiness is something that voters, Democrats and Republicans, just don't like. As I recall, she had a shot at the turtle, but after that, her campaign just went straight down the tubes. Anybody who has a clearer memory of that Senate race, correct me if I've got it wrong. But I think that any candidate for any race in any state or district needs to be forthright and upfront with voters. That is of paramount importance if you want to have any chance to win.
The turtle has a better opponent this time, I think. I don't live in Kentucky, but I have donated a total of $30 to Amy McGrath in two separate donations and I'm sure I will donate to her campaign again before Nov. 3. As long as she has a chance, anyway.
Oh, and I haven't donated yet to Sarah Gideon, but I will. She's one of the ones on my list. And it's a pretty long list, probably longer than I can afford, but I SO want to get these disgusting Republicons out of office.

(22,191 posts)word anyway, when she says she is going to do something, and then doesn't. She's done this repeatedly.
She's full of BS, and offers the standard 'thoughts and prayers' platitude that is so overdone, so trifling, so pathetic for a sitting Senator to offer.
Maybe if she grew a spine, with among others in the Senate (only a few is needed), and showed some of her long missing intelligence and courage, things could get done in Congress, and perhaps we wouldn't have the PINO still in office. Impeachment would have been successful and the PINO would be long gone.
But somehow I doubt it (growing a spine), and she toes the line for Moscow Mitch, another well known traitor. It truly is time for a change, perhaps her competitor will sweep her out of office in Maine, they seem to have a good chance.

She will deny it... or not.
