(4,612 posts)what the 3rd Amendment of the Constitution is. I'm sure they know the 2nd and 1st (though not all five rights guaranteed by the 1st), but they'll have to have actually read and studied the thing to remember the 3rd.

(23,356 posts)(I don't know who did it); according to that survey, eighty percent of adults could name all of "The Simpsons" characters, but only one in TWELVE could name all five of the rights protected by the First Amendment.

(6,945 posts)because I just re-watched "The Barber of Seville" Monday evening - but which Amendment it was protected by I couldn't have told you without looking it up.
But then, that's why I keep my pocket-size so close.
(I'll bet they don't know the Ninth either.)

(2,894 posts)And more about doing unto others as I would have them do unto me.
No reply to that part of my text.
(Not attaching wacko to religion above, she just has lots of conspiracy theories and prejudice in her head.)

My reply: I don't take my marching orders from Vladimir Putin.
edit for stupidity - typed masks instead of signs in reply title

(801 posts)At a S&S a very aggressive woman here in Connecticut refused to wear a mask. The clerk was very nice to her but insisted that the sign "No shoes, no shirt, no mask, no service" was the rule. Did she agree with the no shoes, shirt part?"
Karen-type just pushed forward. Clerk told her she was excluded from this private property. Freedom of speech is not a "legal right" on private property. Please leave.
Something neat unfolded.
Clerk called "Team Five". Five co-workers arrived with shopping carts and surrounded the jerk woman. "We're ready to help you, ma'am." Everywhere the jerk went there were shopping carts all around her. Everything she touched on a shelf was photographed. Some aisles were so choked, she could not get down them. Repeatedly redirected to the one-way arrows.
Finally to check-out. "Sorry, we have only one cashier able to handle customers without masks. She is on break. Please wait here.
At least 10 minutes went by, still surrounded passively by Team 5 carts. A small crowd formed. Finally her stuff was taken on the belt and registered. But no bagging! She complained, and was reminded "no shoes, no masks, no service."
Then she tried to pay by creditcard. "You must pay by cash!" "Creditcards are a service."
Team 5. You must pay for your goods before you leave. She didn't have about $60. Can you call someone to come with the money?
Jerk woman started to cry.
Team 5 offered to help her to her car, but she started screaming about communists and eventually drove away without her groceries. It was a very satisfying drama. I doubt if she will return to this S&S.
Copy the tactics of Team 5.
They were prepared and must have done some training.

(4,292 posts)Even among the employees; today that includes several female associates with Dick Noses. As tempted as I am to call her/him out when I walk by, I'll mouth the words inside my mask, and get the hell out as soon as possible.
Odd: I don't see very many Dick Noses at the smaller store (in the same chain) in my neighborhood. But then, there wasn't the panic buying there in April and May. The only reason I go to the big store is that the smaller store doesn't always carry the variety of products -- especially fresh produce -- as their sister store.
