The Conspiracy Singularity Has Arrived

This article investigates what's going on with the burgeoning conspiratorial world views. It's one thing to be interested in conspiracy theories for fun or speculation, but it is quite another to see the world and other people through those kinds of lenses.

The consensus about our shared reality is important and pragmatic for a host of reasons. While we can enjoy and celebrate unconventional ideas and thoughts, even creative speculations and musings about truth and reality, the shift towards unsubstantiated information and belief systems that have an almost religious fervor to them is significant.

The implications are a rather troubling indicator about the state of our collective reality and there may be several factors that are encouraging this transformation. A better understanding of what's going on may be essential in order to grapple with the social effects and fallout since this impacts us all in some way and relates to the reactions to the pandemic as well as the strange political arena we find ourselves in.

With the pandemic and a global uprising against racial injustice to be explained away, conspiracy communities are bleeding into each other, merging into one gigantic mass of suspicion.

A few months ago, at a time when it was still safe to have strange experiences in unusual places, I was handed a mysterious document. “ALLIANCES AND TRAITORS WITHIN THE TRUTH & UFO COMMUNITIES,” it read.

The document was a single, bright red sheet of paper, crowded with close-set black type. Different kinds of lines and arrows connected in wild formulations, linking George Soros with the Illuminati, various stars of the UFO community with their alleged handlers, the CIA with Alex Jones. The Pleidians—a race of tall, blue-eyed Nordic alien beings—connected with both Tesla and the president in ways I couldn’t quite parse.

This paper was created and handed to me by Dylan Louis Monroe, a player in the QAnon world and the creator of the Deep State Mapping Project, a one-man operation where Monroe creates dense visual maps of the supposed alliances he sees between various major players and world events. Monroe was at the New Age expo Conscious Life selling Q-branded t-shirts and promoting a YouTube show, I was there reporting, and both of us were thinking about the strange alliances and friendships that had begun to surface in various conspiracy communities.

“BE CAREFUL WHO YOU FOLLOW,” the document warned, in bold, at the bottom, just above a large black Q.

in history. But usually what you find out is that it was just a handful of people who were involved. When you start getting into a conspiracy where there is massive involvement at multiple levels and multiple organizations....that's nuts. You couldn't possible organize something that big, with that many people, and pull it off without anyone finding out.

People make mistakes, they talk, they brag. We'd find out.

This may be interesting, too.

I was around when Robert Anton Wilson co-wrote the Illuminatus Trilogy!, (a fictional work). Wilson was a very intelligent and witty scholar and researcher, almost a sage in many ways. He had a penchant for studying historical conspiracies and also altering/exploring consciousness.

Here is what one could say is where the roots of the more popular and prevalent Illuminati conspiracy are said to be and I think it may be correct, (or is it another conspiracy?):

I think a lot of these folks are actually comforted to believe that some invisible hand is at work and controlling everything that happens. It's oddly enough better than feeling like we are just a ball flying through space and everything is just kind of happening.

I think it corresponds to the common truism that, "everything happens for a reason" and they really want to know who or what is the reason behind major events even if things just happen sometimes. It that case, the grasping and speculating makes sense.

There are some good articles on the underlying psychology of CT believers. That is one of the motivators. There are several.

I would read it, for my own education. Was around a couple of those folks a few days ago...nothing is too crazy. Among other things there were discussions about the 35 foot high giants that have been concealed by the Smithsonian, and of course bunkerboy is just cleverly faking his cognitive decline. And that's just the tame stuff that can be shared with the nonbelievers.

It would be a very relevant and topical group. This is not so much of a fringe phenomena anymore. It is spreading and increasing while influencing media and politics.

Keeping track of and sorting out the conflagration of wild speculations might be very useful, as well as having resources for that purpose to refer to.

It seems that the group might be best if it were geared towards revealing and debunking, of course. There are plenty of venues for spreading them already.
