The Doctor Behind A Cognitive Test Trump Took Says Its Supposed To Be Easy
The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test discussed by President Trump and Chris Wallace is not an IQ test, Dr. Ziad Nasreddine told MarketWatch
Dr. Ziad Nasreddine developed and copyrighted the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test in 1996, which is a 10-minute examination usually performed with pen and paper that measures the strengths of different areas of the brain related to cognitive domains, such as short term memory, spatial awareness and executive functioning. [They have expanded remote testing, including via an app on the Apple AAPL, +2.10% iPad, during the pandemic.]

But as many doctors and armchair critics have been quick to argue on Twitter TWTR, +3.49% and Facebook FB, +1.40%, the MoCA exam should not be difficult for someone who is not cognitively impaired.

This is not an IQ test or the level of how a person is extremely skilled or not, Nasreddine agreed in a call with MarketWatch. The test is supposed to help physicians detect early signs of Alzheimers, and it became very popular because it was a short test, and very sensitive for early impairment.

(11,760 posts)His need to brag about his performance on a preliminary dementia screening belies his "confidence". He pathologically needs to feel validation as an intellect when he is likely very average, cognitively speaking.

(50,563 posts)just subtracting 7s each time was much more difficult for me, not sure what that means, lol.

I think I actually got to 100 and was out. Maybe it was a joke!

Also have to wonder about those last five tough questions.

He KNOWS it.
He feels it.
He is constantly tormented by his own inadequacies.
It leads to his ridiculous speech patterns and boasts.
He is tortured by the knowledge of his own inadequacies and the forced beliefs that he must project constant "winning" and constantly be "right" and never back down or show weakness....but in his mind and soul he KNOWS he is a complete joke.
An intellectual flyweight.
A bum, incapable of introspection by upbringing, incapable of love or empathy by abuse, and unworthy of sympathy by his own malevolence.
He is a man-baby incapable of growth, stunted and immature and tormented by it all.
He tells everyone how "great" he is, but he simultaneously gets that sick pit-in-the-stomach feeling of impending doom at every turn...
Suffer, you man-pig painted clown. Suffer and suffer and suffer some more and know this too...those who recognize your condition Trumpy Bear, are universally LAUGHING AT YOU. Hard.

Anybody with a decently quick mind could do the test in 2.5 minutes or less, plus that 5 minutes.
And, they'd "ace it", too!

3,000,000 Americans think Biden is slipping! Well thats less than 1% of the population so may be true. That many Americans are suffering cognitive decline themselves. Id rather know how many Americans think dumpster don is slipping. Im sure well over 100 million, probably up near 300 mill.

(43,443 posts)It means he is dimly aware of what was being tested, that he thinks he aced it is laughable. This is the dementia stage beyond denial, he is being humored and allowed to drift in the wind. It's sad in a way, but also sad that there are not 25th Amendment patriots in the White House.
And the silver lining. Even if he did manage to "win" the election, it will be as vacuous as his test. Nature won't fit to the four year election cycle. Dementia waits for no one.

(3,321 posts)they already have strong suspicions that you have cognitive impairment.
The recommendation to take it is indicative of a perceived problem.
