The housecleaning that begins in January starts with getting Trump out of the White House and.....

....continues as we watch a wonderful parade of loathsome assholes pack up and leave government "service", people like Pomeo, Mnuchin, Miller, Ivanka, Kushner and on down the line. But here's the thing. As I watch our government in action in Portland and see the goons from ICE, CBP, U.S.Marshalls Office and Federal Protective Services tear gassing and beating my fellow Americans, I WANT THEM GONE TOO. The housecleaning should put hundreds of these militarized morons out of their taxpayer funded jobs as they are clearly unfit to have such responsibility. The "I was just following orders" defense didn't work in 1946 and shouldn't work today.

The 46th president will be sworn in on January 20, and at that time the old one and hundreds of appointees will essentially be history. That's always the way except for a few who are asked to agree to remain.

Itm, if we control the senate and house, we'll already be doing great things in congress. When the 46th president is sworn in, stacks of important legislation will already be waiting to sign into law and much more coming fast. Much work is already done, just lacking the power.

And of course powerful, Democratic-controlled committees will already be addressing many issues of people in government who shouldn't have been and their actions while they were. Goodness knows they've had to wait far, far too long. We may be angry, but they know far, far more about what to be angry about.

After Election Day, should we see Biden winning and having a Senate majority, the House will have plenty of time to cook up some readily available crimes to charge Tangerine Turdlapper with, and present them to the new senate.

Which will forthwith proclaim His Turdishness guilty and throw his ass out with a week or two left in his one miserable term.

Wouldn't that be nice?

shortages of everything needed to combat it and move immediately to limit deaths. How about body disposal? Hospitals forced to shut down wings for lack of staff? Problems x1000.

Plus, all the other disasters are also going to land on the new administration and congress like a million tons of bricks. The economy, possible additional epidemic disease, national and international food shortages and supply chain disruptions, climate, direct threats to national security, natural and possibly unnatural disasters, massive ongoing corruption outside as well as in governments and military, on and on.

Just filling positions is an enormous task, and most appointees will be new to enormous jobs. Many offices have been gutted of the career employees who knew how to carry on, mission statements trashed and procedure manuals and critical working data deliberately destroyed. Some employees were replaced with saboteurs chosen to corrupt and destroy, but not all can be identified and fired at once.

They'll probably already have spent the last 2 months dealing with the current administration -- still in power -- and whatever problems Trump, McConnell, Russia, etc. do their best to use it to create. The bigger their losses, the less the ruthlessly corrupt predators still in power will have to lose.

I'm thinking our people are going to be just slightly overbusy next winter.

a worse flu with a President almost comatose.

We then managed to work through the greatest Depression and the Dust Bowl years in the 30's and then, with some (ahem) Japanese help, expanded our tiny military and overturned our anti-war attitude in time to win on two fronts.

A quick look at American history shows that when a real challenge shows up, we wake up and deal with it.

I have no doubt we can do it again.

we would if we had to. Heck, that’s six months from now. Things are so crazy, it’s not impossible that McConnell might finally decide to kick him out for causing him unacceptable trouble, just choose one of 100 reasons. And we’d be with him.

Also very possible is that we will offer Trump a deal he can’t afford to turn down, again assuming we get control of both chambers of Congress. And then let him be prosecuted once he’s out of office.

To me impeachment is all about removal from office. In this giant super storm of crises, I can think of 1000 things more important to do if that’s not the specific goal.

The same laws that prevent a President like Trump from just "Firing all the liberals", will make house cleaning racists and fascists difficult.

- When we can show that specific laws were broken by individuals and proceed with due process.

- We can also break up offices and departments that were setting up and recruiting people that were clearly pursuing illegal and immoral agendas.
