trump's advantage is those support trump have high enthusiasm for him, and those supporting Biden don't have a high level of enthusiasm for him, though they do have a high level of enthusiasm to dump trump
So what is the point? The way to remove trump is by voting for Biden. I suspect the argument they are trying to make has to do with registered voters verses likely voters, however, I would argue that in the polls I have seen, while the likely voter model is less than the registered voters for Biden, the likely voters still show Biden leading

(12,286 posts)Thats not to say people are dissatisfied with Biden.
Not at all.
But this aint a case of our side needing to be hazard up by our candidate getting out there and revving up the crowds with great stemwinders. No rah rah speeches or rallies are needed. Its not enthusiasm for Biden which animated this race.
It is overwhelming historic off the charts antipathy against that fucking toxic orange fascist occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue that will not only sour Democrats to turn out it record numbers but many millions of former republicans will join us.
Thats not a knock on Joe.
Thats simple political reality.

Proud Liberal Dem
(24,452 posts)The urge to elect Trump wasn't there so much as the utter lack of enthusiasm (or distaste) for Hillary in 2016. In a way, Hillary seemed to play the role of "unpopular incumbent" (unfairly IMHO but...........)

I also hope the Dems have a plan if he says hes not leaving/starts court battles/sends in his goon squads/elicits his gun nuts to take to the streets...they need a plan for every crazy scenario.

nevergiveup
(4,769 posts)is the enthusiasm for getting rid of Trump. You don't have to love Biden to be enthusiastic about dumping Trump. Trump fatigue has set in. If the election were held today Trump gets destroyed. The problem is that we have 3 1/2 months to go and all kinds of nutty things will happen between now and then.
