The Trump administration has sent militarized federal agents to arrest (kidnap) protesters without due process, which is a violation of their Fourth and Fifth Amendment rights, and the Trump administration has refused to remove them when asked by the Governor of OR. In fact, they plan to expand this militarized presence in other places as well. Shades of Hitler's SS, because the US military won't do it, and these are BPC agents. In full military gear with fully automatic weapons.

I was a kid when Kent State happened. Funny, because the mantra on the part of the conservative working class and middle class until then was, "Why don't these people get jobs? They are just standing out there protesting and they aren't like us. They are radical. They hate this country. America, love it or leave it!"

Then, when those four kids got gunned down by the National Guard at Kent State, the mantra changed. It became, "Hey, stop. Those are our kids!"

Kent State happened in 1970, and by March 1973, the last US troops were gone from Vietnam, and by 1974 Richard Nixon - the Republican who had cheated his way to victory in the 1968 election by having his friends at State sabotage the peace talks (something about the shape of the table) until he could get elected, and in 1972 by sending the CREEPs in to burgle the Democratic National Committee records in the Watergate building. So there you have it.

When a president starts pulling this shit, his days are definitely numbered. Me, I like Biden's chances in Oregon come November. I'm not thinking many Oregonians are going to be voting for an administration that tear gasses peaceful mothers who are protesting.

Oh, and they aren't a mob. They are our people. Us. Our mothers. Our wives. Our children. The are not a mob.

The Federal building became a focal point of this as part of downtown that got trashed burned and looted on that first night. It has since been fenced off and is the focal point of these late night situation where a select few provoke an illegal assembly and prompt a response from the police. This has been going on for 50 + days. The small portion of individuals who trash burn and loot in in these Portland protest hijack everyone of them with this shit.
In this case it opened the door for the Mango Mousellini to bring in his private militia.

The scenes of looting and destruction I have seen appear to have been begun by outside instigators, not the protestors. Much of the violence has been started by the police and federal officers, as in when they attacked and gassed peaceful protestors for Dolt45's photo op in Lafayette Square.

In that situation was to induce suffering. The protester were completely passive. The use of tear gas in a situation like that goes beyond inappropriate, it is nothing short of cruel and barbaric. This is nothing short of a police riot and an example of Trump's version of domination. This shows the heartlessness of a common dictatorship.
