Democrats and the left have been too weak for too long against the right wing and conservatives, and this monster seems to have been the end result.

Long ago, during war, you either won, or lost and everyone on your side either died or became a slave. It looks like it's coming down to this again...

Governor Kate Brown

This political theater from President Trump has nothing to do with public safety. The President is failing to lead this nation. Now he is deploying federal officers to patrol the streets of Portland in a blatant abuse of power by the federal government.

I told Acting Secretary Wolf that the federal government should remove all federal officers from our streets. His response showed me he is on a mission to provoke confrontation for political purposes. He is putting both Oregonians and local law enforcement officers in harm’s way.

This, coming from the same President who used tear gas to clear out peaceful protesters in Washington, DC to engineer a photo opportunity.

Trump is looking for a confrontation in Oregon in the hopes of winning political points in Ohio or Iowa.

Have they been heard from and who are they?

I would also be concerned that some of the "officers" could be part of militant right-wing group, pulling stunts like this to scare protesters in support of Trump.

This is from the other thread's linked article:

“I am basically tossed into the van,” Pettibone said. “And I had my beanie pulled over my face so I couldn’t see and they held my hands over my head.”

Pettibone and O’Shea both said they couldn’t think of anything they might have done to end up targeted by law enforcement. They attend protests regularly but they said they aren’t “instigators.” They don’t spray paint buildings, shine laser pointers at officers or do anything else other than attend protests, which law enforcement have regularly deemed “unlawful assemblies.”

Blinded by his hat, in an unmarked minivan full of armed people dressed in camouflage and body armor who hadn’t identified themselves, Pettibone said he was driven around downtown before being unloaded inside a building. He wouldn’t learn until after his release that he had been inside the federal courthouse.

“It was basically a process of facing many walls and corners as they patted me down and took my picture and rummaged through my belongings,” Pettibone said. “One of them said, ‘This is a whole lot of nothing.’”

Pettibone said he was put into a cell. Soon after, two officers came in to read him his Miranda rights. They didn’t tell him why he was being arrested. He said they asked him if he wanted to waive his rights and answer some questions, but Pettibone declined and said he wanted a lawyer. The interview was terminated, and about 90 minutes later he was released. He said he did not receive any paperwork, citation or record of his arrest.

“I just happened to be wearing black on a sidewalk in downtown Portland at the time,” Pettibone said. “And that apparently is grounds for detaining me.”

If this is for real, it's just a trial run for far, far worse.

================================================
MY ADDITION: After you are detained for 15 minutes ASK THEM THIS >> I have been detained over 15 minutes. Why am I being detained? After a few more minutes repeat this and ask if you are under arrest or are you free to leave? Start asking for names, agencies and ranks of detaining officers. Ask: If I am under arrest, I have a right to know the charge. If you don't have a charge am I free to go? It will speed up their processes. Don't answer ANY questions. Say no I want a lawyer, and I want to know the charges in writing on letterhead.

Especially in battleground states.

Yes they had issues with Hillary, but by them not voting for her, they essentially joined the Trumpers in burning down this country. Just because a candidate does not put you in first place doesn't mean that you should press the self destruct button.
