(4,314 posts)My mother found it by asking around and reading anecdotes in magazines and newspapers. Many older structures, little houses mixed in with apartment buildings. A nice little neighborhood Horner Park, a beautiful Hild library, mostly very patient and dedicated teachers and counselors. I attended Newton Bateman Elementary School from about third grade on, and then Theodore Roosevelt High School. Most of the neighborhood people were lower middle class. My family was very poor. I think they saved my life.
PS If you are related to anybody who was on the staff of one of these schools, or the park, or the library, you should know that I tried to write thank you notes when in my twenties, but they were returned to sender. Also, I have been thanking these wonderful people all my life, in my heart, and praying for many blessings on them and on their whole families. I bet there are many others doing the same.
