Trump: 'Shouldn't be hard' for Kanye West to take away votes from Bidenhttps://thehill.com/homenews/administration/506875-trump-shouldnt-be-hard-for-kanye-west-to-take-away-votes-from-biden
President Trump on Saturday expressed confidence that rapper Kanye West who recently announced that he plans to launch a late bid for the White House could steal votes from Trump's presumptive Democratic opponent in November, former Vice President Joe Biden.
...
West in the past has been a big Trump supporter, meeting with the president multiple times and often wearing Trump's signature red "Make America Great Again" hat.

(1,206 posts)so yeah, some are just as stupid.
Kanye will get votes if he runs and chances are they won't be coming from Trump's base.

(11,420 posts)I knew some tRump voters voted for Obama in 2012 but, I figured it was a very small percentage. I found that number to be 13%. That number makes my head hurt. What part of the orange one's policy convinced them to vote for tRump? Did they hate Hillary that much? Was it immigration or the whole drain the swamp thing??? Did their inner racist finally emerge?

(1,206 posts)yes, they disliked Hillary (through no real fault of her own), and yes there was a racial backlash after Obama - but in my opinion it boiled down to two camps - the 'look at this clown (Trump), let's have some fun for the next four years, how bad could it be' camp and the 'we need to tear down the system and Trump will do that' camp.
Also, we have to remember how good things were in 2016 and how many, many people don't connect policy to good things happening, they figure that things are getting better because that's just the way of things. A lot of Obama Democratic voters were (and still are) young and don't remember (because they either weren't alive or simply not paying attention) the damage wrought by Republican administrations in the not too distant past.
Not to mention that Barack Obama was a once in a lifetime president and voting for him was at the same time historic and also waaaaaay cool.
So, in essence just because we here at DU pay attention does not mean that every person who selects 'D' on election day does.
And thank you for the welcome, I appreciate it.

(26,355 posts)Hell, he announced so late he passed the deadline to get his name on the ballot in most states.
Ignore him, don't give that narcissistic shitstain any oxygen, and if anyone actually supports him, stupid-shame them until they get PTSD.
