According to whoever posts his tweets, he's on "cruise control" and his breathing is improving daily.

He describes the current process as "cruise control" because the progress is slow but his breathing is getting stronger every day.

Make no mistake: He is improving!

Please keep praying and know he loves you all.
Herman Cain (@THEHermanCain) <a href="

He has been hospitalized with Covid-19 since July 2. His account continues to post anti-mask tweets, one was even posted the day he was admitted to the hospital. Other tweeters have pointed out that cruise control implies ventilation, and there's an article online calling ventilation "cruise control for the lungs."

(The account also seems to be a fan of people who drive into crowds of protesters.)
Cain attended the June 20 Tulsa rally where he sat unmasked and undistanced among others doing the same, despite there being plenty of empty seats. But hey, those masks are uncomfy ...
If he survives, will he continue to do, and/or advocate for, the same activities that led to his situation?
UPDATE: I listened to The Rachel Maddow Show last night (it was a couple days after the episode had aired), and Rachel played audio of a nurse telling a patient that they were going to intubate and put him on a ventilator with sedation, but once ventilated, they could lower the sedative and the patient might be able to communicate by writing on a pad or nodding. So, it may be that Cain was both communicating and ventilated.

(54,476 posts)He does NOT have a mild case. Continually hospitalized with COVID-19 for six weeks means he is fighting for his life.

(14,861 posts)He went to Trump's thing in Tulsa. That may be where he caught it.

(1,652 posts)Time is flying. Tulsa was June 20 so saying June 2 makes no sense. Thanks.

(1,652 posts)keeps posting anti-mask propaganda. And they only dropped a hint about his condition without coming out and saying what EXACTLY they meant.
Sedated. Ventilators can cause damage later, including injury and delirium.

(10,054 posts)fighting Covid. He refused to wear a mask or practice social distancing at the Tulsa rally then went out of his way to tweet a bunch of anti-mask posts saying that people are fed up having to wear with them. I hope he doesn't die, but I am not feeling sorry for him.

(14,858 posts)... not on a ventilator.
Might be wearing an oxygen mask, and maybe even going through blood filtering/oxygenation. I have no doubt that he can afford the best healthcare, unlike most of us.
torius
(1,652 posts)before they put the tube down his throat and they fudged the verb tense, "describes" vs. "described." It kind of sounds like something a doctor or nurse would say. "Don't be scared, we're just putting you on a little cruise control ..."

(14,858 posts)Hard to know when dealing with liars like them.
torius
(1,652 posts)They drop a hint so they can have plausible deniability for whatever happens. If he dies they can say we didn't hide his condition. If he lives, well, it was just a small flu.
