Anti-Mask Florida Lawmaker In Critical With COVID

Anti-Mask Florida Lawmaker In Critical With COVID
July 10, 2020 Coronavirus, Republicans

WTF Florida reports:

St. Johns County Commissioner Paul Waldron caught the coronavirus and went into septic shock after voting against a motion to mandate masks for county employees last week.

His daughter posted on Facebook on July 9 that Waldron “went into septic shock and has many organs struggling.”

“He is currently in the most critical of conditions,” she wrote. “I ask you not to doubt the power of prayer.”

If he does miraculously recover, I doubt he'll become an advocate of sanity. He'll probably just think that Gawd specially loves him.

He'll make a better mask advocate dead.

'Waldron is one of three commissioners who voted against a county-wide mask mandate for the county last week, but said he was not necessarily opposed to the requirement. He wanted the county administrators to answer questions about what kinds of masks are best and if the county had enough for all employees and citizens who come into government buildings.'

He's no peach but I don't think wishing him death is appropriate.

are the first line of defense, for one's self and others. I think prayer is fine, but if one chooses it as a first and only line of defense, they might be discovering they don't HAVE a prayer.

After decades of selectively doubting the power of science, “I ask you not to doubt the power of prayer”.....

and said this while talking and texting on a high-tech smartphone, enjoying the comforts of high-tech home environmental controls and the safety and security of a high-tech automobile, and always trusting that NASA would somehow make all those rockets fly from Cape Canaveral.

For Republicans, that's not sarcasm, it's the way they roll.

I hope the man recovers and becomes an ambassador for good pandemic safety practices in Florida.....
