one third of US household did not make their July payments on time or in full

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8503795/One-American-families-missed-July-housing-payments-amid-coronavirus-crisis.html

A survey by Apartment List found that 32 percent of US households did not make their July housing payments on time or in full

It marked the fourth month in a row with a 'historically high' number of households struggling to make the payments

The findings indicate that the US economy is recovering much more slowly from coronavirus losses than expected

A growing number of families - now one in ten - fear they could get evicted in the next six months

I have a small car payment on an older used car. It's due the 3rd of the month but the nice thing about a credit union loan is the 15 days grace to make a payment. It has always been that way. You have until the 15th before it's really late and you have an extra fee after that.

I have NEVER BEEN LATE. Never missed a payment. Always got them in on time or well within in the grace period. For All my car loans with them over the years. (this is at least my fifth car loan there. )

On the 7th I got a message from the credit union to please call. The number they left went to collections. I thought that's odd. I checked and saw my June payment went through on June 3rd. and my July payment was set for July 8th with my bank. When Karen answered she said oh it was a courtesy call since I was running late. I said well we we are still in the grace period right? That's never got me a call before I said and my record shows I make the payments. Well yes she stumbled around, but just a courtesy reminder! I told it was set with the bank for the next day. You okay with that? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, she said. Have a good day!

So, I think the only explanation is that creditors are getting buggy about the economy. if they are calling ME with friendly reminders.

If I was in the market for a used car this year, I think I would wait for the sales on repos. 1 down payment and take over the payments. Probably lots of them coming.

I mean the administration says the economy added a record 4+ million jobs last month! Fox News even said it was a record so it must be true.

I'm just going to ignore those tiny little losses from spring, simply minor insignificant glitches.

They're going to try to starve us back out during an active and a deadly pandemic is raging across this country. trump refuses trying to make workplaces and school safe to return to, and refuses to adequately test or providing mass testing like we need to have done. trump refuses to even provide enough PPE , or have enough hospital facilities to handle the surge of cases it will cause. trump even refuses to make masks mandatory, and shows he could care less about your child's health and welfare, while causing outbreaks from mismanagement . trumps refused to do anything to stop this virus knowing it was coming, and still did nothing, and why so many have died and why our economy is in such a dangerous place, all because of trump and the republicans in Congress. trumps trying to force children back prematurely is already backfiring on them now. We'll be screwed until trump and pence are gone , or they remove themselves from anything to do with this pandemic response, and allow the CDC to be in charge. trumps failures are escalating now.

$600/week federal unemployment goes away, without an extension. We are in for a world of hurt. See how their economy looks then! I fear for our country!
