2 Republican Senators are now skipping the convention so far, don't think it will be the last either

Grassley is skipping it, now Lamar Alexander is doing a runner too..........

I get the feeling they don't want to be seen at the Nuremberg Rally in Florida.........

“Senator Alexander is an honorary chair of the Tennessee Trump campaign, but he will not be attending the convention because he believes the delegate spots should be reserved for those who have not had that privilege before as he has had,” his office says.

Lamar!!! decided he doesn't wanna swim in that COVID petri dish, himself, but it's perfectly fine if someone younger and dumber wants to do it in his place and bring the virus back to his own friends and family. How very Republican of him.

Or have a virtual convention like the Democrats have planned.

Let them ALL go, from Moscow Mitch on down. Pack that freaking place, grab every red hat there is in the south to be there especially the "elected" ones. Make them own their shame and as a bonus a HUGE percent of them may meet a little virus that they think is fake news. To hell with them.

So generous and self-effacing! I think he would not be nearly so generous if there weren't a deadly pandemic raging.

13. Pity wealthy Republicans don't adopt this same attitude when it comes to a lot of other "spots."

Like having their kids volunteer for military "spots," instead of reserving that privilege for someone else's sons and daughters. Or those sought-after "spots" at elite schools, well-paying corporate jobs and other opportunities for those who haven't yet enjoyed the privilege. Interesting how Republicans can be so egalitarian only when it involves risking their own lives.

and that it will be shameful, embarrassing, divisive and openly racist. They may be okay with that privately but might not want to be seen at such a televised spectacle.

They are going to have difficulty getting speakers, too. They might end up with bottom of the barrel guests like Dinesh D'Souza and Jerome Corsi, maybe Roger Stone (after he's pardoned), General Flynn, Corey Lewandowski, Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders... Ye gods!

Seriously, who would want to be seen here?

I predict an embarrassing disaster!

The whole convention just implodes and they don't know what to do about it?

Time is short. There's <120 days to Nov. 3rd and the disarray in the R camp is obvious and dire. The unraveling has begun as the dear leader* declines in cognitive functioning. What a mess.

Might as well say he wants to spend the time with his family.
