Moscow Mitch is feeling the pressure from Amy McGrath . She has been campaigning that Congress needs to do more for Americans once the Unemployment benefits runs out at the end of the month. Mitch wants to win so bad it seems.

(13,366 posts)Some of us aren't even getting unemployment... I've literally been living on $50 a week and food banks for a while now...
Thank goodness I have a roof over my head, but I haven't paid my electric or gas bills in a while and I am waiting for the red flag to show up anytime now.

(12,265 posts)She didn't want to take our help, but I made her do it. They had no food in the house when she finally took the cash I sent her. I stopped sending checks she would tear them up.

(11,949 posts)My grandfather was the last generation of Yeoman Farmers in South Arkansas. They never lacked for food between the hogs, garden, fruit trees, cattle. You get the picture. Mother said she has never eaten better and she is now very well off.
But they had family in town who were about starving. Had no land. But were too proud to accept help. So my grandfather would go visiting with them. Carrying a burlap sack with a bacon, some potatoes, maybe a ham, some carrots. Or whatever they had. He would walk in the house, drop the bag and say nothing. He would visit and then leave. No one said a word about the bag.
It taught me a lesson.
