I think Trump asked him to run. In his dementia addled mind, Trump thought: Kanye is a friend of mine, he's black and young people like him. If he runs for president, black people and young people will not vote for Biden and I win.
Tea party former governor of Maine, Paul LePage did this with Elliot Cutler to split the independent vote. Trump just visited Maine with LePage in tow, so he probably gave him some form of this idea.

(3,888 posts)so I suspect it is the publicity that he is after. He is already too late to get on ballots in 8 states. He is not a serious candidate.
Reminds me of Pat Paulsen for president.
Except that Paulsen was a better candidate.

(32,841 posts)... to making $150 million per year? Somehow West, Chump and Zuckerberg are in cahoots over this.
Whether he actually "runs" or not, this jump from deep debt to multimillionaire in a few short years - it's just highly suspicious.

Look at any of the pictures of Trump and Kanye together and tell me it isn't so.

(3,063 posts)While there is no cut off date for running as a candidate States have rules and dates for filling to be on the ballot.
Most of which he has missed. And as a write in candidate, well we know how well that works...
