It's pretty obvious the "Kanye for President" thing is Trump outsourcing his strategy towards blacks

He knows that he has very little support among the African-American community. He knows transparent gambits from token shills like Candace Owens and Diamond and Silk wasn't fooling anyone in the long run.

He also knows that enthusiasm and turnout against him was strongly buoyed in the black and ethnic minority communities, and is one of his biggest impediments to re-election.

And he knows that his loyal hardcore base contains many racists and alt-right style cretins. And he is pathologically incapable of not wanting to reward "loyalty." So when it comes to racists versus minorities, he's always going to choose the side of the racists. Because they show him love, and the others do not.

But he still knows he has to deal with his problem towards minorities and tampering down on any enthusiasm they might show towards his opponent. And a direct outreach might in turn damper the loyalty the racists and white nationalists show towards him, which would bother him more than anything else.

So he just decided to "outsource" his outreach.

He chose a token black supporter, one with high visibility and one who is just as narcissistic as himself. And he's having him run for President, as a vanity project for him but as a Hail Mary style effort to siphon African-American support for the Democratic Party.

It will hardly make a difference. From what I understand, the vast majority of African-Americans view Kanye West to be as much of a joke as Donald Trump.

But it doesn't have to be a vast majority; a tiny fragment of voters dissuaded from voting for the Democratic candidate has worked in past elections. Jill Stein. Ralph Nader.

But it only works if the margins are razor thin like in 2000 or 2016. In a blowout, a third party hedge candidate would be useless.

I doubt it will work. The one thing about African Americans and modern day Republicans is that the Republicans are always insulting their intelligence. Thus, the whole message about the "Democratic Party plantation" that they try to push over and over is nothing more than a turnoff

Still, it's painfully obvious that's what is behind this.

3. Thing is, as a musician/producer, he's actually fairly talented.

I have to admit I like some of his songs and collaborations.

So unlike Trump he's actually decent at what he professes to be good at.

But that, and the color of his skin, is about the only thing that separates him and Trump.

... generally thinks he has all the music he needs for now. The last thing I bought was the Monkee's 'Good Times' CD in 2016. I doubt I'm his main demo. I just wonder who is?

"throw" West's support to Trump. Or some such bullshit. West is a joke, but hey, we already had a stripper and escort as First "Lady" so why not one (KK) who made a sex tape? It's just another step downward.

Seems doubtful to me. Trump might think so, but I don't. Black voters are smarter than that.
