Trump second-term plans remain a mystery to GOP

Republican lawmakers say they have little to no idea what President Trump's agenda would be if he wins a second term, making it difficult for GOP candidates to coordinate campaign messages ahead of November.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said last year he wanted the 2020 election to be a referendum on socialism, but instead it's turning into a referendum on Trump, a scenario that GOP senators wanted to avoid.

Congressional Republicans say Trump spends too much time going after critics on Twitter and not enough time articulating his vision for a possible second term. They would prefer more contrasts between their party and Democrats on issues such as taxes and regulation - areas they think could be part of a winning formula in the fall.

Instead, Republican senators say there has been little discussion about what Trump's second term would look like, other than the assumption he might have a chance to appoint another Supreme Court justice and fill other judicial vacancies.

It's rather simple. The only reason he's running is to stay the hell out of prison

He wants to keep flying around in the fancy plane and helicopter. He wants to live in the big house (NOT The Big House) and have people drive him around in the fancy Beast-mobile. He wants people to rush in with a fresh Diet Coke whenever he pushes the button.

And MOST OF ALL, he wants to stay out of prison.

The enablers are the only snakes with a plan.
This administration has never had a plan on anything, other than Mnuchin's tax cuts, and Miller's Nazism. And the latter wasn't really a plan, just a political tactic.

“Congressional Republicans say Trump spends too much time going after critics on Twitter and not enough time articulating his vision for a possible second term.”

Don’t they know by now that going after critics on Twitter IS his vision for a second term? That’s mostly what he did for his first term (that and play golf).

Trump had told him Kasich could be in charge of governing, while Trump would be the face of the Administration, attending State dinners and official events and giving speeches, similar to the Royal Family of England.

to be fair, he never really had a plan for his first term either.

He only wants to BE president. He does not want to DO THE JOB of being president.
