Shaun King tweeted (i.e. stole) this info/image without giving appropriate credit to the source:

I’m a historian by training. My undergraduate and graduate degrees are in history.

Let me teach you something. ⁣

Every man with a red dot on their face who signed the Declaration of Independence OWNED and enslaved Africans. Over 75% of them.

The rest permitted it.

Here is the original source:

This is one of the most famous paintings in American history: Declaration of Independence.

I decided to put red dots on all the men who held slaves.

Next time someone puts them on a pedestal and says we can't question their judgement on guns or whatever, show them this image.

For a few minutes or so. So it’s a net plus, I guess.

In 200 years, people will be looking back at car owners in the 20th and 21st century in the same way that we look at these slave owners.

"I’m a historian by training; my undergraduate and graduate degrees are in history," he doesn't seem to reflect the gravity of the Enlightenment or the novel nature of the Declaration of Independence in the context of history's broader sweep.

My cousin went to school with him in Woodford County, KY. He's as white as they come. He wasn't "woke" at all in high school. He's just decided as he became an adult that he can make himself look passable as black and make a shitload of money off of black racism and it's worked. He's got everyone fooled.

But guess what? There are zero public Jesus statues in the US, so that means he supports going on private property and vandelizing them. The man is as extreme as you can get.
