We ought have no monuments to this monster. And certainly no holidays in his honor. I was extremely happy to see that even Republicans are pushing to replace Columbus Day with Juneteenth Day.

We need a whole new education system. And we need to reinstate civics and government classes. We need to explain why government is equally important as private industry, not something to be pushed aside in favor of private industry.

If so that isn't a good look on someone who caused GREAT harm to the Native Americans.

Columbus put down native unrest and revolt: he first ordered a brutal crackdown in which many natives were killed, and then paraded their dismembered bodies through the streets in an attempt to discourage further rebellion.



He was very much into dismembering bodies.

purportedly for "safekeeping," to avoid vandalism. There's a big to-do over it.
